The KC761 is a radiation multimeter based on spectrometer analysis, featuring a scintillation detector as its primary sensing element and an integrated multi-channel analyzer. Through spectrometer analysis, it accurately identifies the energy and intensity of radiation, providing much richer radiation measurement information compared to Geiger counters.

With no consumable parts, the KC761 offers access to all measurement functions without the need for a connected smartphone. Powered by replaceable AA batteries designed for a storage life of up to 10 years, it’s ideal for long-term storage and emergency use scenarios. It boasts comprehensive external interfaces, supporting Bluetooth and Ethernet connections, and can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), enabling the formation of sensor networks for long-term online monitoring. For enthusiasts of nuclear physics, the KC761 can output pulse signals via a 3.5mm jack to connect with a extend analysis system.

Designed with a rugged and flame-retardant shell, it’s suitable for outdoor applications such as exploration, scientific expeditions, accident investigations, and more. It operates reliably within altitudes ranging from -2000m to +30km, and even in vacuum conditions. With an IP65 waterproof rating and the ability to float if dropped in water, it’s built to withstand various environmental challenges.

The KC761 incorporates a solid-state CsI(Tl) scintillator coupled with SiPM sensors, integrating high-sensitivity/low-noise front-end circuitry. This configuration enables the KC761 to achieve a high FWHM resolution of up to 8.2% and achieve energy responses as low as 9keV or even lower. It excels in the realm of X-ray detection.

Multiple interfaces on the side. USB Type-C, RJ45, TF card slot, and a 4-pin 3.5mm jack. The USB interface facilitates both charging and data transfer operations, RJ45 enables network connectivity and PoE power supply. The TF card slot for storing measurement data, the 4-pin 3.5mm jack can use to connecting headphones and outputting sensor pulse signals.

The secondary detector PIN detector features a 16mm² area and is housed in a specially designed casing to maximize signal integrity by minimizing interference. Additionally, it is covered with a Mylar film to prevent light interference. The PIN detector can be used for experiments measuring alpha and beta radiation.

Inside the KC761, there is also a second sensor slot that supports optional additional sensor modules, such as a neutron sensor *option under development.

Spectrum Mode

Unlocking the secrets of radiation sources demands precision and accuracy. Our KC761 spectrometer delivers just that, offering unparalleled insight into the spectral curves of radiation sources. With an exceptional 8.2% spectral resolution, users can delve deep into the distinct spectral characteristics of various radioactive isotopes.

Dose Mode

In dose mode, the KC761 can display a curve of radiation dose versus time.

Similar to Geiger counters, the KC761 also determines radiation dose rate based on pulse counts. By measuring the energy of pulse counts, it can adjust counts according to the sensitivity of the sensor to different energy radiation, achieving more accurate dose rates through a method known as energy compensation. Additionally, as the human body absorbs radiation differently depending on its energy, the device can also provide dose equivalent rates.

The time-dose rate curve can intuitively reveal trends in radiation levels, useful for radiation substance detection. Moreover, the KC761 can calculate and display cumulative doses, offering operators richer information.

Temperature Compensation

KC761A is equipped with rigorous temperature compensation measures. It has undergone extensive testing in a wide temperature range, from extremely cold to extremely hot conditions, within the factory. The built-in temperature sensor inside the scintillation probe actively compensates for temperature fluctuations, ensuring accurate measurements across various environments. When performing long-term spectrum accumulation measurements, there is no need to worry about slight changes in ambient temperature affecting the accuracy of the results.

Waterproof and Ruggedized Design

The KC761B is designed to withstand the rigors of field use with its waterproof and drop-resistant construction. Built for durability, this spectrometer can endure harsh environments, including wet and dusty conditions, without compromising performance. The ruggedized casing ensures reliable operation even after accidental drops, making it an ideal tool for outdoor and demanding applications where reliability and toughness are critical.
